After four years of his death and twenty-two of his winning Nobel Prize for literature, Naguib Mahfouz still makes people differ about why he got this prize. Many people agree on his greatness and importance as a novelist and writer. But still others think his political situations made him win the international prize; which no other Arab writer has won till now.
I myself think he is a truly great writer and he deserves more than Nobel. His works deals with many important human questions and problems. He has a wonderful ability to record reality and details which can be understood on different levels.
